Guide to Buying the Best Comfort Bra

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again just to drive the point home. The best recipe for a comfortable bra is a properly fitting bra. Here’s a short guide to buying the best comfort bra.

Size

To get the perfect fit for your comfort bra, consider getting a professional fitting. Many department stores have some great lingerie shops that offer this service.

If you want to measure yourself for a bra at home try our helpful online bra measuring guide here.

And the best thing is, they’ll help you choose a comfort bra that fits your size and shape perfectly. But if you don’t fancy going to the shops, take a measuring tape and follow an online guide to get your measurements.

After that, I suggest trying a few bras out before making your final purchase. Look out for any bulges, gaping at the cups and other anomalies.

The cups should cover your boobs entirely and support them. The shoulder straps shouldn’t slip off or leave skin marks. And the band should feel snug against your torso. So really, make sure you can breathe!

Material

The material your comfy bra is made of is essential. Just remember how much time you’re going to be spending inside this comfort bra. Hopefully more than 10 hours a day.

And I say hopefully because comfortable bras are supposed to feel like you’re not wearing anything at all. Yes, I know. Imagine braless coupled with support. Amazing, right?

And with a nice fabric, that’s definitely possible. The obvious choice is cotton. But really, you want to pay attention to how it feels on your skin and choose a stretchy fabric your skin can breathe in.

Many bras are made with fabrics like polyamide, polyester, and elastane. Again, it’s a question of personal preference. Have a feel of each bra, try them on, and pick a comfort bra that feels soft and seamless.

Comfort

Speaking of soft materials, the main objective of a comfort bra is to make you feel as comfortable as possible. Once you’ve picked the right size and materials, you’ll be well on your way.

However, you need to make sure it fits your body shape to a T. When you try on your comfy bra, standing straight and looking stiff isn’t going to tell you how this bra will fit on a daily basis.

Instead, walk around the room, stretch, do star jumps, lean over and reenact some of your daily activities. The goal here is to judge how the comfort bra will feel when you move your body throughout the day.

If you do this, you’ll find that you can spot minor discomforts here and there and avoid making a bad purchase.

Types of comfort bras

The term “comfort bra” is a very broad one. This means that it covers a lot of different styles. For example, in this article, we’ll be reviewing maternity bras, sports bras, sleep bras, and bras that are best for full-busted women.

But for most women, the most comfortable bras tend to be wireless. And full-coverage wireless bras are a life-saver for women with large breasts. That said, sports bras can be a great way to feel comfortable and supported throughout the day.

You can also buy a comfort bra with a front-clasp closure which is great for women who can’t stand sitting down on a hardback chair and being left with a red mark on their spine.

But let’s get into these reviews!

FAQ about Comfort Bras

What are the best pull on bras ?

A great pull-on bra is this Sloggi Women’s Zero Feel Bra. It really feels like you’re wearing nothing at all. And it provides great support. And I love not having to worry about any clasps. But if it’s a little too plain design-wise, this Maidenform Bralette looks gorgeous. With its lace design along your torso, this one looks really cute and it’s quite comfortable.

What is the best non wired support bra ?

My favourite non wired support bra is this Anita Comfort Bra. The cups separate your boobs and the extra fabric around the torso makes you feel completely secure. The wide straps aren’t abrasive. And the detailed design makes for a sexy look despite the fact that it’s a full-coverage bra.

But another great option is this Delimira Bra. It’s so soft against your skin, and it surrounds the band in such a way that it doesn’t poke or feel overwhelming.

What kind of bra should I wear for heavy breasts ?

If you have large breasts, your best option is a bra with extra fabric on the band and along the side with large shoulder straps. This Miss Mary of Sweden Bra is a great choice. The front-clasp closure is super practical. And the lace design on the straps looks very elegant. But more importantly, it’s very comfortable to wear and provides all the support you need.

Which bra is comfortable for daily use ?

My personal favourite is this Organic Bamboo Bra. I love wearing this to do chores around the house, and I can wear it in cold weather, hot weather, muggy weather. In short, it’s become my go-to comfort bra. It’s sexy if you like the sporty look. But really, as comfortable bras go, this comfort bra’s a great option.
